The Kawasaki Z500 is the naked sibling of the faired Ninja 500 and is expected to launch in India in 2025. Could be priced around Rs 5.2 lakh (ex-showroom), it will go against the likes of Yamaha MT-03, KTM Duke 390, and the Aprilia Tuono 457.

The Kawasaki Z500 is powered by the same 451cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, making 45.4PS at 9,000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6,000rpm as the Ninja 500. The engine is paired with 6-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch.

The Kawasaki Z500 comes with an LCD console on the standard model and a TFT console on the SE model. Both consoles support smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology App and show notifications, riding logs, and community features. Other features in the console include a real-time mileage indicator, a gear position indicator, and a clock.

The Kawasaki Z500 comes with a 41mm telescopic fork and a bottom-link, gas-charged monoshock with preload adjustability. The bikes get a 310mm disc up front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear, along with dual-channel ABS. The bike rolls on 17-inch wheels shod with 110-section front and a 150-section rear radial tubeless tyres. The Z500 has a ground clearance of 145mm with a seat height of 785mm. It comes with a 14-litre fuel tank and weighs 167kg kerb.
