Yamaha FZ-X | Road Test Review | Most Affordable Neo-Retro Bike In India | ZigWheels

The Yamaha FZ-X is the Japanese two-wheeler giant’s attempt to recreate the magic of the XSR155 in India using a very familiar platform. It is in fact based on the highly popular FZ-FI, probably the best selling bike in the sport 150-160cc class in the country. The FZ-X borrows all its underpinnings from the FZ-FI, such as it’s chassis, suspension and mainly its 149cc SOHC air-cooled motor. It only differs from its sport-naked sibling in terms of its design, and comes with a lovely retro-style teardrop shaped fuel tank, a tuck-and-roll seat, an LED projector headlight with a ring shaped LED DRL and block-pattern tyres. The FZ-X’s riding position too has been made more commuter oriented with a taller, more pulled-in handlebar and centre set footpegs. It also gets a full LCD instrument cluster with optional Bluetooth connectivity and a 12v charging socket. The Yamaha FZ-X is a fresh alternative to the current crop of motorcycles from the segment. Though performance may not really be its strength, the bike certainly makes up for it with features and retro-styling that the competition doesn’t offer.
