Ola Electric’s new venture has been the talk of the town for the past few months. The company’s ambitious plan of not just launching the Ola Electric Scooter but also an extensive charging network raised many eyebrows. It has the potential to rattle not only its electric scooter brethren but also the traditional scooter market.
Launched at Rs 99,999 for the S1 variant and Rs 1,29,999 for the S1 Pro variant (both ex-showroom Bengaluru, inclusive of FAME-II subsidy), the Ola scooters carry an aggressive price tag. Both versions are powered by a 5.5kW motor that has a peak power rating of 8.5kW. Given the differences in battery capacity and motor tune, the S1 Pro is able to reach a top speed of 115kmph while the S1 is restricted to just 90kmph. This motor is paired with either a 2.98kWh (S1) or a 3.97kWh (S1 Pro) battery pack, with a claimed range of 121km and 181km respectively.
