The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was probably the best made-in-India adventure motorcycle until the arrival of the new 2025 KTM 390 Adventure. The Himalayan offers massive ground clearance and long travel suspension making it a great choice for riding off the road. And its massive 17 litre fuel tank and comfortable seating allows for an excellent highway touring experience. The KTM 390 Adventure has the same amount of suspension travel, slightly more ground clearance, and is much lighter than the Himalayan, giving it an edge in the dirt. But on the highways, its smaller fuel tank and skinnier, stiffer seat might not work as well for most tourers.That said, the KTM offers better performance and a host of electronic ride aids.
