Q. I am planing to buy new suv vehicle. XUV 500, Harrier or MG HECTOR PLUS which one is better for smooth and long drive

Hyundai Creta Diesel would be the best choice as per your requirements if number of seats doesn't matter. This 1.5 litre motor makes 115PS of power, which is 13PS down on the old engine, but while driving you hardly notice this fact. From the get-go, this engine impresses in terms of refinement and smoothness. There is very little turbo lag, which means gear shifts are kept to a minimum. This makes the Creta diesel-manual a stress-free car to drive in the city. Even out on the highway, the punchy nature of this engine makes overtaking easy and thanks to the tall gearring, it cruises in a relaxed manner too. The light clutch and slick gearbox makes your life even easier. In our performance tests, the Creta diesel registered decent times. In the 0-100kmph run, it took 12.24 seconds, which is a bit longer than the old car. But thanks to the good drivability, in-gear times were actually much better, with 30-80kmph in third taking 6.85s seconds. If we talk about MG Hector Plus, it is spacious, delivers better power performance and comes in 6-seater configuration. The 170PS, 350Nm diesel is a punchy motor and feels at home both in the city and on the highway. Sound and vibration levels are kept in check and while it is not the most refined version of the Fiat-sourced engine we have driven, it won’t leave you complaining either. Overtakes in the city are handled with ease and the motor proves to be plenty tractable as well. However, the gear shifts are a bit clunky and take a conscious effort to shift. Plus, the clutch is a bit heavy and will make you regret missing leg day in bumper to bumper traffic (if such a thing exists anymore). And then there is a tendency to stall while applying the throttle after overcoming a minor undulation. If we talk about XUV500, it offers good balance of power performance and driveabilit. As far as NVH levels are concerned, they are well controlled and the engine noise is only audible in the cabin when revved beyond 2,500 rpm. However, the same cannot be said for the Bridgestone Ecopia tyres which emit a lot of rolling noise with some of it making its way inside cabin. But that still isn’t bothersome and can be washed away with the audio system.Its clutch pedal is light, its long travel range will be irksome when driving in stop-and-go traffic. There is no hint of wobble or nervousness while taking curves at speeds north of 70kmph. It’s agile for its size, but while its steering is fairly accurate, it doesn’t provide great feel. The ride on the bigger wheels felt sporty but not stiff at any point. That said, the tendency of the XUV’s back end to feel bouncy over sharp bumps still remains. Q. Which is better between Harrier and Creta?

Bhai don’t ever think of buying harrier as it’s a hopeless vehicle. My own harrier is still parked at Tata motor workshop due to non availability of parts and fuel pump which got faulty a month back . On my way to Vadodara to indore whole diesel got leakage due to faulty fuel pump and I was stuck in jungle in midnight. Hopeless vehicle from Tata motor. I this modern technological environment this type of quality was not at all expected from Tata’s ..!!!👎

If you are looking to buy Creta high-end, it costs around 18-18.5 lakhs on road. Harrier XZ high end is 19.5 on road price (without extended warranty, accessories etc). Specs, looks and engine performance wise Harrier beats Creta in all departments (only Harrier engine is noisier than Creta and has very few ergonomic issues).But make up your mind on if you really need that huge car as Harrier or not. Because it is way bigger than Creta.

Harrier is the best and it is the beast..creta is a tin can with ugly head lights. Creta is just a 4 seater car and also people with more than 5.8 height cannot sit comfortably. Creta is good for only baby sitting kids . Never ever compare a tin can with stylish harrier.

On enquiring in the showroom, I was told that the clutch replacement cost in that car would be Rs.75,000/-, which you'll need to do frequently, given the clutch issues in the car. Moreover, you won't get a good enough variant in your budget. The Harrier is the biggest car which you'll get in this price bracket. However, one issue with the car is that it doesn't have disc brakes at the rear, it has drum brakes at the rear and disc at the front. Given the huge weight of the car, braking at higher speeds is an issue, which Tata has now resolved with the launch of the new Safari with all disc brakes.Don't buy Brezza if you're enthusiastic about fun driving. Also, it feels really less premium than the counterparts. I suggest you to go with the Creta Turbo DCT. It's fun to drive, well-built, and of course loaded with features to the brim.

Tata Harrier is good among these SUVs if you are looking for manual diesel but I felt the steering is kind of heavy or hard to drive not a easier one or smoother one in Harrier, but if you are looking for automatic you could consider hyundai creta automatic gearbox is so good in creta, Jeep compass you will get a base variant in your budget which I think is overpriced a bit,hyundai Tucson will also cost you around starting 23 lakhs but a good car to drive, and breeza is a good in its segment but lacks performance.
