Q. Which car is better Thar or Gurkha?
  • Both the cars are good in their forte. Thar looks modern with tweaked styling and improved interiors. The drivetrain includes petrol, diesel and automatic options. 4x4 is standard. Washable interiors are a nice touch. The Thar's appeal and promise to take you on great adventures is a big draw but living with it every day will still ask you to make many compromises. As a second car or for those who just need the utility of the 4x4 the Thar’s appeal is undeniable. On the other hand, Gurkha's old-school design, comfortable seating for four, pliant low-speed ride, surprisingly easy to drive in the city, and refined engine. Even when it comes to practicality it is spacious and has comfortable seating for four and unlike its main rival, the Mahindra Thar, it gets a proper boot. The engine is more refined than before, it is surprisingly easy to drive at city speeds, and the low-speed ride is very comfortable which makes it quite good for everyday commutes. But it doesn’t quite have the requisite dual personality which we’ve come to expect of modern cars. For a better understanding of compatibility and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive. Q. I'm confused between two cars, ZS EV and Nexon EV?
  • Both cars are good in their forte. MG has gone for a cleaner philosophy, which is evident in the lack of clutter around the new front bumper and the axing of the faux front grille. Other than that, the 17-inch alloy wheels get a new design, the headlights and tail lamps are from the Astor, and the rear bumper has a distinct look. Also, black and grey join the paint options on the Astor alongside red and white. But the trademark blue has been taken out. Under the good is where the juicy changes are at. It is now powered by a 176PS electric powertrain, a 33PS jump over the pre-facelift model’s 143PS setup. It is also now coupled with a larger 50.3kWh battery pack in place of the 44kWh unit. Of course, this translates to a claimed range of 461km, which is 42km better than the pre-facelift model’s 419km (claimed). On the other hand, The Nexon’s balance of ride comfort, backseat space, and boot space has made it a fantastic pick as the family car. The EV has managed to retain these values. The floor height for the rear bench and the 350-litre boot space is unchanged. This has been achieved by packing the 30.2kWh batteries underneath the car, resulting in a 4mm drop in ground clearance to a still-healthy 205mm. The Nexon EV makes the leap that we have been awaiting from Tata Motors. It is appealing and polished, with no ifs and buts. The plastics felt good and the finish was consistent too. Everything worked as expected, if not better. The only niggles we could find was that in sunlight, we couldn’t see which mode was selected on the drive mode selector because of the weak backlight. A 300km real-world range and a higher top speed would have cemented the Nexon as the EV to beat. The Nexon EV is expected to be priced between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh, but state government subsidies and rebates would bring it in line with its ICE-equipped siblings and in a position to make EVs the new normal. For a better understanding of compatibility and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive. Follow the link and select your city accordingly for dealership details.

    Mahindra Thar: A Adventure Beauty

I recently took my Mahindra Thar on an unforgettable road trip to the picture perfect hills of Manali and I must tell you it was an absolute pleasure experience. The Thar has 2.2L mHawk diesel engine with the help of that it easily handled the bumpy surface like a champion. The 4x4 drivetrain was a real lifesaver on those tricky, off road sections. One of the high points of the trip was definitely the open rooftop experience which allows us to felt in love with the scenic beauty.

    everyone's favourite

In the matter of space, comfort and luxury, the Mahindra Thar is hands down, one of the best mahindra models. It is perfect for four people, better space and room as compared to the other mahindra models. The drive train is AWD and the most convenient part is that it gives options in transmission. One can choose manual or automatic as per their desire. Its turbocharged engine is powerful. It is very expensive going and is also suitable for off roading.

A True Off-Roader with Room for Improvement

My adventures over the past six months with the new Mahindra Thar have been nothing short of spectacular. This rugged machine, equipped with a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine, which delivers a decent 130 PS and a robust 300 Nm of torque is built to tackle any terrain. The 4x4 capability means that muddy fields and rocky paths are a breeze for Thar.Though the Thar shines off road, daily driving paints a different picture. For starters, its heavy steering and firm suspension can make regular city commutes quite a task.

MG ZS EV: A Smooth Ride

I decided to experiment with the MG ZS EV for our recent weekend trip to Agra. The first thing that struck me was the silent, smooth drive unlike any petrol or diesel vehicle. The instant torque from the electric motor was impressive and it made overtakes on the highway is very easy task to perform. The car claims a range of 340 km but on our trip, I felt a bit anxious as the range dropped faster than expected specially with the AC on.

    promises great performance

MG ZS EV is one of the most convenient and efficient models in the segment of electric vehicles. With great performance and promising smooth ventures, it is affordable too. The best part is that it is easy to maintain. I have recently switched from my old model brezza to mg zs ev and I can totally see the difference on which I would suggest others to give it a test drive and see the magic themselves.

    a tough competition for all

Increasing demands of public and loads of attention towards the features, the MG ZS EV has gained enough recognition. It is designed to suit us humans as well as our surroundings in the best way possible. Offered at a bit high range, it comes along with flexible features and modern technology in blend with attractive looks of the car making it a reasonable purchase. The drive quality is very good, i will strongly recommend on the basis of my own personal experiences.

A Glimpse Into the Future with Some Minor Hiccups

After owning the MG ZS EV for a few months I have a lot to say about this electric adventure. The ZS EV is packed with a 44.5 kWh battery offering a range of about 340 km on a single charge it is pretty impressive for city commutes and moderate long distance travels. However as an Indian user the ground clearance is a bit of a letdown you have got to be extra careful over those unpredictable speed bumps and Pits. Despite these minor drawbacks driving the MG ZS EV feels like a step towards the right eco friendly direction.
