Features: The features list includes a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wireless from the XZ onwards), connected car technology, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, and a fully digital instrument display. The list further includes cruise control, drive modes and terrain modes, a panoramic sunroof, an air purifier, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, powered driver’s seat, auto-dimming IRVM, and keyless entry with push-button start. The safety kit comprises up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear disc brakes, electronic stability control, hill descent control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold function, tyre pressure monitoring, and a rear parking camera with sensors. ADAS features including forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring and more are a new addition to the safety kit.

Engine: Powering the Tata Safari is a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine with an output of 170PS and 350Nm. It is paired to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the front wheels only.

Rivals: It takes the fight to the MG Hector Plus and the Mahindra XUV700.

Variants: The Safari can be had in 10 broad trims: XE, XM, XMS, XT+, XZ, XZ+, XZ+6S, Dark Edition, Red Dark Edition, Adventure. The Dark Edition is exclusive to the XT+, XTA+, XZ+, and XZA+ trims; while the Red Dark Edition is limited to the XZ+ and XZA+ trims. The standard variants get four colour options: Orcus White, Royale Blue, Daytona Grey, and Tropical Mist. The Black and Red Dark editions feature an Oberon Black exterior hue.
