Skoda rapid is the 1.0-litre, Three-cylinder, Turbocharged petrol tsi engine that puts out 108 bhp at 5250 rpm and 175 nm between 1750-4000 rpm.The power output on the new rapid tsi is up by five per cent when compared to the older 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine.The torque output has increased by a good 14 per cent.The new rapid manual is also 23 per cent more fuel-efficient over the older version with a claimed fuel economy of 18.79 kmpl.

Power delivered

Rocket! power delivered from the 1.0l engine is just amazing! mind-blowing acceleration, That moment when it hits turbo.Seating is comfortable, Spacious cabin, Good leg room, Head space is also decent enough.On the down side:headlights are not good.Suspension is okish.Overall a wonderfully power-packed car.Pleasure to drive on highways!.

Safe vehic

Pros : best performance in the segment, Safe vehicle, Pickup is good, Comfortable, Strong vehicle.Vibrations are minimum, After sales service is good but an appointment is needed in bangalore cons:milage can be better the sunroof is not available @ the top end.Stock headlamps are very weak.

I have skoda rapid from last 2 years.According to my opinion this car is too comfortable with proper safety equipments and is best for tall person.It has very good interior and exterior.Rapid have good mileage with good pickup and powerfull engine.It is a good looking car with blackheadlamps, Alloywheels, Cruise control, Abs system, 2 airbags, Bag and automatic ac.

Q. Compared with earlier version of Skoda Rapid, Now the engine power is only 1000 CC(999cc). Since Engine power reduced, how the performance like speed, pulling power, torque, mileage ?
  • The new Skoda Rapid comes equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque. The engine has actually shrunk in size from 1600cc to just 999cc. Not exactly an inspiring statement. But the key acronym in the spec sheet is ‘TSI,’ and that really makes a big difference to the equation. The gearbox is also a new 6-speed manual and its throws are short, and it’s fairly slick-shifting too. That engine is also nice and tractable, so you can stay in a high gear, say 4th for example, and allow the revs to drop down to as low as say 1500rpm and it will still pull away cleanly without too much of a complaint. Yes, it is a small engine paired with a turbo, so below 2000rpm throttle response is dull, but that doesn't mean you can't keep up with traffic in the city, and a slight prod on the throttle means you can pull off an overtake. Moreover, the mileage of Skoda Rapid ranges from 16.24 Kmpl to 18.97 Kmpl (claimed). For a better understanding of performance and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride.
