Skoda is due to launch a new variant of the Superb, called Sportline, for the upcoming festive season in the coming week. Unofficial bookings of the new variant have already commenced. Customers can book their Superb Sportline at a Skoda dealership for a booking amount of Rs 50,000.
As the name suggests, the Sportline will come with some sporty bits on the exterior, like a blacked out grille as opposed to the chrome-tipped grille with a chrome surround on other variants. Other sporty touches include a blacked-out front lip and alloy wheels, which are not completely blacked out but feature silver highlights in the spokes.

The cabin too stands apart from the standard variants. Compared to the dual-tone black-and-beige upholstery of the L&K, the Sportline goes for an all-black interior with a generous dose of leather and soft-touch materials. Carbon-fibre inlays on the dash are also a part of the package. The flat-bottom steering wheel reaffirms the Sportline’s sporty aesthetic The white highlight around the tacho and speedometer dials is a rather nostalgic touch and a nod to speedometers from the past. You also get aluminium pedals to go with the ‘Sportline’ badging. Creature comforts like climate control, steering-mounted controls, voice recognition and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system are in place.

The Superb Sportline will be available in white and red only. As for the powertrain, Skoda is likely to offer the Sportline with the 1.8-litre TSI engine only. It produces 180PS and 320Nm of torque and comes mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission that drives the front wheels. It is expected to be priced around Rs 29.0 lakh.
