Mahindra has finally launched the new Thar and with it, a bunch of customisable add-ons and cabin upgrades, with some options even borrowed from the top-spec LX variant.

Starting with the exterior, the Thar gets a choice of piano black and chrome body inserts as part of the Dark Hero and Chrome Hero pack respectively. The exterior package comes with additional decals, body cladding, exterior appliques, and 18-inch alloy or 16-inch black machined alloy wheels. It also gets the option of a tailgate-mounted snack tray and door hinge step.

Heading inside, the cabin gets quite a few add-ons. These include four types of floor mats, six seat upholstery options, steering wheel cover, a magnetic sunshade for the front windows, and scuff plates. The lower-spec AX variants also get the add-on Vibe branded speakers and roof-mounted speaker kit from the LX variants. Additional accessories include a parking camera, LED DRLs for the AX and AX Optional, full and half body cover, magnetic sun shades, and front and rear mud flaps.

Despite adding a city-driving quotient to the Thar, Mahindra has made sure to provide for the one aspect the Thar is predominantly known: off-roading. For those who want to visually capture their muddy escapades, Mahindra offers a bunch of GoPro accessories, from cameras and mounts to suction cups and complete kits.

Off-roading involves getting stuck in places where you do not want to mess with Mother Nature and for that, you get a bunch of vehicle recovery accessories from Bushranger such as tow hooks, winches with extension straps, and jacks. You also get Bushranger floor mats, tyre repair kits, and a quick step. Nature enthusiasts interested in camping can opt for tents and sleeping bags from Kingcamp.

In addition to these accessories, Mahindra is also offering various outdoor-inspired merchandise based on the Thar. From t-shirts and jackets to bandana kits, the apparel is available for both men and women. Other merchandise includes mugs, leather tool kit, Thar-shaped room freshener, decals key tag and umbrellas.
The Thar is now on sale from Rs 9.80 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the second-gen SUV are underway while deliveries will begin from November. The off-roading icon will lock horns with the upcoming Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
