Open top thrills, a lively rear end and a 5.2-litre V10 engine screaming at you

  • The V10 motor makes 610PS and 560Nm, paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

  • Electric fabric soft-top can operate in 17 seconds at speeds of upto 50kmph.

  • Is 150kg lighter than its AWD counterpart.

  • Will be the most affordable open-top Huracan on sale in India.

Good news for those wanting some open-top thrills, as Automobili Lamborghini will be launching the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder in India on June 8. Essentially, a rear-wheel drive version of the Huracan EVO Spyder AWD already on sale in India, it is a lighter, and more tail-happy open-top Huracan.

The highlight in the RWD Spyder is of course a fabric soft-top so you can hear the screaming naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine. Speaking of the V10 motor, it pushes 610PS and 560Nm, and is paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Thanks to the omission of AWD, the open-top RWD Huracan weighs in at 1,509kg, around 150kg lighter than its AWD counterpart. But it is 120kg heavier than its coupe counterpart  that weighs 1,389kg.

With a 2.47kg/ps weight-to-power ratio  it can go from 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds, and hit  a top speed of 324kmph. As is the case with the Huracan RWD coupe, it gets some cosmetic differences compared to its AWD sibling in the form of different bumpers, diffuser, as well as the different alloy wheels with carbon-ceramic brakes.

On the inside, things will remain pretty identical to the coupe with features such as the 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa voice recognition, and ANIMA controls on the steering wheel for Strada, Corsa and Sport driving modes.

When it goes on sale in India, it will be the most affordable open-top Huracan on sale, considering the standard Huracan EVO RWD is priced at Rs 3.22 crore, more affordable by Rs 51 lakh than its AWD sibling. That being said, it will likely be the priciest Huracan RWD around, since its AWD counterpart is Rs 37 lakh more expensive than the coupe, at Rs 4.10 crore (ex-showroom).
