Honda Activa 125 prices revealed, launch in April

Honda will launch its 125cc Activa in a week or two. And we can now reveal the price of the Honda Active 125. The Activa 125 will come in two versions - standard and Deluxe. Both versions will be powered by a new 124.9cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine that develops a max power output of 8.6PS. The power rating, we agree, isn't much; it's only about 0.6PS more than the regular 110cc Activa. But, the power rating is still par for the segment. The Suzuki Access for instance makes 8.7PS. And like the Access, expect the Activa 125's engine to be a smooth and peppy operator as well.

The base or the standard version of the Activa 125 will only come with 130mm drum brakes at both ends and will sport Honda's Combined Braking System. It will be priced a fraction under the Suzuki Access at Rs 56,000. This makes the Activa 125 nearly Rs 7,000 more than the 110cc Activa and almost Rs 3,000 more than the Honda Aviator. The Activa 125 Deluxe meanwhile, which will sport a 190mm disc upfront to handle the braking duties along with a 130mm drum at the rear will retail for Rs 61,000, making it a pricey proposition.

The Honda Activa 125 Deluxe borrows this setup from the Aviator and as on the latter, it too sports a 12-inch front wheel (to accommodate the telescopic forks) and a 10-inch rear. Given that Honda says, the 124.9cc mill is all-new, we would have liked to see a 12-rear wheel as well, like on the TVS Jupiter. Otherwise, both versions of the Honda Activa 125 will come with tubeless tyres, self start, telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear to handle suspension duties, and a reasonably rider-friendly seat height of 765mm. The Aviator for instance has higher seat height of 790mm. The Honda Activa 125 will also only come in four colours, and all extremely sober. It will be sold in black, metallic blue, pearl white and metallic silver. The Activa 125 bookings are already open at Honda dealerships across the country for an amount of Rs 5,000.
