It’s raining sports cars today in India. After BMW launched the updated Z4, the swanky looking Lexus LC 500H coupe got a mild facelift in the country. Priced at Rs 2.39 crore (ex-showroom), it carries a premium of around Rs 10 lakh over the pre-facelift model. The updated two-door coupe continues to come to India as a fully imported model.

Coming to the design changes, we suggest bringing a magnifying glass to see what’s new. The front grille has been ever so slightly revised while the new 20-inch alloys are finished in gloss black that add to the ‘stealth’. But that’s about it. The rest of the design is the same as before though we aren’t complaining, as the LC 500H is a gorgeous machine.

Updates are very miniscule on the inside as well, and an untrained eye might not notice what’s new. But we’re here to help you. So for starters, it gets an updated digital driver’s display while the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been introduced and pushed a bit back for better touch inputs. Also, the buttons on the central console have been revised as well.

What remains exactly the same is the ‘heart’ of the matter: the 3.5-litre V6 strong-hybrid powertrain belting out a combined output of 359PS. Like before, the engine is teamed with a 10-speed gearbox that combines a 3-step CVT with a 4-speed torque converter. Nought to 100kmph comes up in 5 seconds, and putting pedal to metal maxes it out to 250kmph.

This swanky coupe from Japan takes on its German rivals such as the BMW 8 Series and Jaguar F-Type.
