2024 Renault Duster spied testing in Europe.
Looks bigger in proportions and seems to be inspired from the Dacia Bigster concept.
To get petrol-hybrid powertrain options overseas, no diesel
Will be revealed in the global markets in 2024.
India launch in 2025.
The Duster was arguably the most significant model in Renault’s Indian lineup before getting removed from the list in 2022. But there’s a new one in the works; and thanks to paparazzis, we’ve got images of the third-generation Dacia Duster (Dacia is Reanult’s sub-brand) completing its testing miles in Europe. The images reveal a reworked body, which looks bigger and bulkier than the one we got in India and here’s everything we know so far:

The Dacia Bigster concept. That seems to be the design inspiration for the new Duster and the similarities can be seen in the upright front fascia, chunky wheel arches and the upright rear boot. LED DRLs integrated within the headlights can be seen flanking the upper grille and the lower grille with the small inserts along with the side inlets that resemble the Bigster’s styling.

The side profile doesn’t give out much, except for the bronze-finished ORVMS, but expect heavily cladded, edgy wheel arches. The rear also shares resemblance with the Bigster concept, with similar looking roof spoiler, cascading windshield and the upright trunk. Even the tailights seem to be taken from the Bigster concept.

Let’s clear the air right off the bat. A diesel powertrain is highly in doubt (emphasis on highly). Even for the pure-petrol powertrain, chances look slim as the third-generation Duster could take the hybrid route with mild- and strong-hybrid petrol powertrain options. However, there is no confirmation on this front just yet.

Expect the third-generation Renault Duster to take a step up in terms of features because India got the first-generation Duster only. And given that there is a gap of a whole generation between the two, the new SUV should be more premium and could pack multiple displays, ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery and maybe even a suite of ADAS.
Along with ADAS, its safety kit could comprise up to six airbags, tyre-pressure monitoring system, hill assist and more.

The new Renault SUV will be based on a new CMF-B modular platform jointly developed by Nissan and Renault; and because of this affiliation, a Nissan counterpart will also surface.

It is expected to make its debut in global markets next year and an India launch could happen sometime in 2025. When the Renault Duster and the rebadged Nissan counterpart launch, they’ll rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
