Skoda has just entered the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment with its newly revealed Kylaq SUV. It is based on the same platform as the Kushaq, and seems like a mini version of the compact SUV. While Skoda has revealed the starting price of the Kylaq, which is Rs 7.89 lakh, the full price list will be revealed on December 2.
Until then, here’s the information on when you can start booking the new Skoda SUV, and when you’ll be able to take it home.

Skoda will open the order books for the Kylaq from December 2. It will likely be launched on 17 January 2025, and then you’ll be able to drive it home starting from January 27, 2025.
The Kylaq is Skoda’s first sub-4m SUV, and it looks like a mini-Kushaq from its silhouette. That being said, it does get new styling elements in the form of the split LED headlights and DRLs. The grille carries the signature Skoda styling with its butterfly-like design and it sits on fresh 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels in profile. Roof rails and the chunky side cladding give it a rugged look, while the rear skid plate contemplates that styling form.

The rear gets squarish wraparound tail lights connected by a black panel with Skoda badging on it and you also shark fin antenna.

While the exterior boasts some similarities to the Kushaq, the interior is basically nearly identical to the bigger SUV. However, there’s a different dualtone black and grey cabin theme on offer, which also gets a few contrasting elements.

As for the creature comforts, the list includes 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, powered and ventilated front seats, keyless entry and a sunroof.
Its safety kit comprises 6 airbags as standard fitment, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist and a reverse parking camera with sensors.

Similarities with the Kushaq continue under the hood where it gets the same 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, which has an output of up to 115 PS and 178 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque-converter transmission.
When launched, the Skoda Kylaq will rival the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
