In a new Twitter post, Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has shared a concept that could spawn Ola's upcoming electric vehicle. Take the digital render with a grain of salt, as details of the Ola EV are not yet available. However, it will likely be priced to comply with the government regulations, making it eligible for subsidies and incentives in various states of India.

The concept vehicle showcases a hatchback body style with a minimalist, cab-forward design. Note that the production version is likely to be toned down with conventional car features (door handles, for one) and might be different in appearance from the concept shown here.

Ola's upcoming production facility
Ola hasn’t stated a timeline for the unveiling of its electric hatchback, but we could hear more from the company later this year. Expect the car to arrive no sooner than 2023 as a direct rival to mass-market EVs such as the Nexon EV and the upcoming Tata Altroz EV and Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV.

Ola Electric currently manufactures the S1 electric scooter, which was launched in India in August 2021. The automaker has a production facility in Tamil Nadu and plans to set up charging points in 400 cities across the country. Although the ‘Hypercharger’ network will initially be for two-wheeler charging, the company has already stated that electric car chargers will also be accommodated in the future.
