The 800MT Touring comes with ride-by-wire technology and gets traction control

CF Moto has launched the 800MT, the latest addition to its adventure motorcycle arsenal in Europe. The 800MT is CF Moto’s biggest ADV and is priced at CHF 13,990 (around 11.35 lakh) in Switzerland. The bike, however, was unveiled earlier last year.

The ADV flaunts a muscular body similar to what is seen on the Honda Africa Twin, however, the 800MT gets a more aggressive appeal. The bike gets an edgy 19-litre tank that should suffice all touring needs. And for better ergonomics, the bike gets a split seat setup with comfortable foot peg positioning.
Additionally, the ADV features a sleek LED headlight setup and a large height-adjustable windshield, a fully digital instrument cluster. For extra safety, the bike comes equipped with crash protection bars on top of the sleek body panels.

CF Moto is KTM’s sales and production partner in China, and will be using the Austrian bike manufacturer’s 790cc powertrain for the ADV. It’s a 799cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 91PS and 77Nm of torque coupled with a slipper clutch and a six-speed gearbox. However, the KTM 790 Adventure produces 95PS and 88Nm with the same engine. The 800MT is capable of achieving a top speed of 195kmph, now that is pretty fast.

The 800MT comes packed with electronics and features like: ride-by-wire technology, bi-directional quick shifter, slipper clutch, IMU-enhanced cornering ABS and traction control. Other features also include ride modes and cruise control.

With a seat height of 825mm and a kerb weight of 231kg, the ADV will be convenient for the shorter riders as compared to other full-fledged ADVs. The bike is suspended on fully adjustable KYB 43 USD forks up front and a fully adjustable KYB monoshock at the rear.
Braking duties are handled by a 320mm double disc up front and a single 260mm single-disc at the rear. The ADV rolls on 19-inch wheels with 110/80 R19 tyres up front and 17-inch wheels with 150/70 R17 tyres at the rear paired with spoked rims with tubeless tyres. The sufficiently lengthy features list coupled with the potent engine and sophisticated underpinnings make it a pretty good proposition in its segment, at least on paper.

The ADV will not be heading to our shores anytime soon, however, you can check out the very capable ADVs available in India like the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Kawasaki Versys 1000.
