Hyundai India could launch the facelifted Venue SUV in June, our sources confirmed. Select dealers have already commenced pre-launch bookings and stocks of the existing model are being cleared out. This will be the first midlife update for Hyundai’s sub-4 metre SUV, which is expected to get cosmetic and feature enhancements.
From what we can gather through spy shots, the facelifted SUV will boast styling elements similar to the new Tucson and facelifted Creta. The grille has grown a size larger and more squarer, and is flanked by the same split headlight set up. In profile, changes will be limited to revised alloys. Changes are more radical at the rear thanks to the new split tail lamps.

We are yet to see the interior of the facelifted Hyundai Venue. But it should get new additions like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, digitised instrument cluster (a la i20), and a Bose sound system. Bits like the single-pane sunroof, cruise control, and automatic climate control will be retained.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
No major changes are expected underneath the hood. The Venue will continue with the 83PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 100PS 1.5-litre diesel, and 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engines. Hyundai could take a leaf out of Kia’s book by offering the diesel engine in 115PS tune, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The facelifted Hyundai Venue will command a premium over the outgoing car that’s priced from Rs 7.11 lakh. It will renew its rivalry with the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
