The 2024 Dzire is Maruti’s latest upcoming launch on the 11th of November, 2024. Earlier this year, Maruti had launched the new-generation of the Swift hatchback with a tweaked exterior design, and an upgraded interior design. We were expecting Maruti to follow a similar exterior design language with the new Dzire, but as per the latest uncamouflaged leaked images, Maruti seems to have taken a different route to set it apart from the hatchback.
Here is a look at the design differences between the upcoming Dzire and the Swift:
From the front, the Dzire features a sleeker and minimalist look compared to the Swift’s sportier styling. The Swift’s LED DRL signature gets a neat L-shaped design while the Dzire’s headlights overall look sleeker and more sedan-like. Both cars are dominated by large grilles, but the Dzire also gets a chrome strip running across the width of the car. The Dzire’s bumper looks more aggressively styled in comparison to that of the Swift, giving it a more boxy look compared to the Swift’s curvy front.

From the profile, both the cars get a different design for their alloy wheels. The Dzire being a sedan looks longer than the Swift, but we will be comparing their dimensions and other specifications in detail once the Dzire has been launched, so stay tuned for that.

Coming to the rear, the Swift gets a regular antenna while the Dzire was spotted with a shark fin antenna. The Swift’s tail lights come with an inverted C-shaped insignia, while that of the upcoming Dzire looks busier with Y-shaped lighting elements. The Dzire also gets a chrome strip which spans across the tailgate.

As seen with the Swift, we expect Maruti to introduce new colour options with the Dzire entry-level sedan.
The Maruti Swift was launched with a new dashboard design and layout, and we expect Maruti to offer the same with the Dzire as well. However, it likely will be offered in a different colour scheme.

It has been confirmed that the Dzire will come with a sunroof and a 360-degree camera, both of which were spotted on the test mules. Some of the expected features that will likely be carried over from the Swift include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, keyless entry, push button-start stop, and automatic climate control with rear AC vents. Safety kit should include 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, ESC and reverse parking sensors.
The Dzire is expected to get the same engine which powers the Swift. It is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine which makes 82 PS and 112 Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

The upcoming Dzire is expected to be priced from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival entry-level sedans like the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. The Swift on the other hand is priced from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago and Citroen C3.
