At EICMA 2025, the legendary British marque unveiled its first-ever adventure bike – the BSA Thunderbolt. This reimagined icon revives the name of the last motorcycle to roll off BSA’s Birmingham line in 1972, now reborn for the modern explorer.
The Thunderbolt is based on the Yezdi Adventure, and shares almost all its components with it. It will get the next-gen, reworked, lighter version of the current 334cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder, Euro 5+ compliant engine that’s paired to a six-speed gearbox.

To match its rugged looks and off-road intentions, this BSA bike packs three ABS modes (Rain, Road, Off-Road), traction control, inverted fork, and preload-adjustable mono-shock. The metal engine bash plate, Norden-ish (or Himalayan-esque) half fairing with round headlight, upswept exhaust, and knuckle guards all make it look the part of a retro-themed ADV.
It gets an adjustable windscreen and instrument console (just like the Yezdi) but here it’s a full colour TFT. Also included are Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, USB charging, and a 15.5-litre fuel tank – all tailored for long-distance comfort.

All in all, this one’s going to be exclusive for markets abroad, just like how the brand’s strategy has been with the BSA Bantam 350. That said, it gives us a hint of what we can expect from the Yezdi Adventure’s future iteration (read TFT console and inverted fork).
