I own a Hyundai Santro Zing 2010 now. Mostly used for city drive, occasionally for weekend getaways around Bangalore ( max 150 kms one way). I want to upgrade now and these days I enjoy driving and intend to go for long drives too. Also I am tempted with all the new compact SUVs. With a budget of 8 to 10 lakh on-road. Which are the right ones for city drive and occasional long drives? Also, as I will continue the new car for atleast another 8 years, should I go for petrol or diesel? I could go for automatic if it comes in budget, otherwise manual is perfectly ok.

For you Hyundai Creta is perfect. You can take the petrol manual transmission as it is 10 lakhs and the automatic transmission is near to 13 lakhs. Diesel is good but it's only a 1400cc car whereas the petrol is 1600cc. So according to me the Creta manual petrol 1.6 is good for city as well as tours.

Only the basic model in Creta is 1400cc diesel other all are 1600cc
