Q. Hi, My budget is 5 lakhs, which is the best and safest car in this budget?

This concept of safety rating is the latest fad. A year or 2 back, this wasn't there and people still used to buy all the cars mentioned and were very happy with them. So what has changed as far as experience goes?
Paras | 5 years ago12 ReplyGo for any Maruti car....preferably swift. I can bet you, you wont regret as I myself has clocked 260K KM's in 10 yrs and still drive approx. 3K KM's every month. The sheer driving pleasure and ultra low cost maintenance will keep you always happy.
Vishnu | 6 years ago6 ReplySwift is the best choice if you can extend the budget a bit. Else wagonR, Kwid and Tiago can be considered. (I have given in my order of preference). If you ask me, I would go with wagonR anytime because it's reliable, comfortable to drive and is a no nonsense choice.
Abhinav | 7 years ago0 ReplyIf you live in city with drives under heavy traffic conditions, go for Datsun RediGo 1.0 AMT. You will love stress free drive. If you drive more than 50 km daily, then go for Maruti Alto K10 with factory fitted CNG. But you can't have pleasure of AMT with CNG.

I guess when someone asks for a car under 5L, it would be the on-road price. Magnite, i20 etc. would certainly be more than that.

Agree, but for a family who has a tight budget , car is definitely safer than a two wheeler or al public transport
