Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Latest Updates

Suzuki has teased the Gixxer 250 BS6 and Gixxer SF 250 BS6 on their official website indicating the possibility of an early launch. Suzuki was expected to launch both motorcycles earlier but the launch was delayed due to the ongoing lockdown caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both motorcycles could launch immediately after the lockdown is lifted.

Suzuki first unveiled the Gixxer SF 250 BS6 at the 2020 Auto Expo in February this year. We estimate that it will come at a premium of Rs 12,000 over the outgoing BS4 bike. Currently, the bike is priced at Rs 1.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). 26.5PS of power churned out by the 249cc single cylinder engine remains the same but peak torque has gone down by 0.4Nm, now rated at 22.2Nm.

The BS4 Gixxer SF 250 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine which makes 26.5PS of power and 22.6Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It features a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. In terms of features, it gets an LED headlight, dual-channel ABS, split seat and clip-on handlebars. The Gixxer SF 250 BS6 competes with the KTM RC 200 BS6 priced at Rs 1.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Editor's View of Suzuki Gixxer SF 250

  • Upside

Free revving and torquey motor,Riding posture is sporty but not aggressive,Competent riding setup

  • Downside

ABS calibration could have been better,Windshield seems inadequate for wind deflection,Touring capabilities could be restricted due to small tank

  • Our Verdict

While the Gixxer SF 250 offers a sporty riding experience, it isn’t an out-and-out sportbike. It does offer an affordable, and potentially more fun, alternative to the Honda CBR250R, making it a great option for more mature riders.

Q. What are the difference made in BS6 Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 from bs4 SF 250?
  • Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6 draws power from a 249cc, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with oil-cooling. That said, Suzuki has tinkered with the engine to comply with BS6 emissions. The BS4 Gixxer 250 SF produces the same power, however, at 300rpm higher. It also produces 0.4Nm more torque at 7500rpm. Unfortunately, apart from an updated motor, the bike remains physically and visually unchanged.

  • R1i5 v3 bs6 150cc for its sports gene from Yamaha this time didnt compromise quality over looks.Aggressive seating position and cornering ability eith dual channel abs is a joy to see and ride. Q. Should I go with Dominor 400 or Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. If i am considering the build quality, Engine quality and a bit of touring but not more than 250km a day.
  • Japanese bikes are revolutionary machines. Their any product particularly. The built, ergonomics (very imp), the mechanicals - the most important for better performance are umatchable. Gxr250 is an amazing machine. Within the city 5 gears are fantastic, once higjway comes the 6th gear shows the potential of the engine. Easily cruising at 120 kmps with pillion. And the engine is patented. When you think of rx100, RD 350 you understand what amount of RnD they do to make superb products that last a lifetime. Think and decide
  • Dominor is the best. . Refined engine... And the service netowork is great..so if your on your trip.. and something goes wrong ( which would never happen) you can get it done irrespective of you being in any corner of India... And they do prioritize dominors over the other bajaj bikes so you would get your ride the same day.. and bajaj service stations are open all Sunday's too 😉
  • You can Blindly Go for Dominor 400 , Whenever You Wants You Can do Hyper Riding and You Can Cruise in 60 - 70 in 6Th Gear
