Editor's View of Suzuki Gixxer SF 250

  • Upside

Free revving and torquey motor,Riding posture is sporty but not aggressive,Competent riding setup

  • Downside

ABS calibration could have been better,Windshield seems inadequate for wind deflection,Touring capabilities could be restricted due to small tank

  • Our Verdict

While the Gixxer SF 250 offers a sporty riding experience, it isn’t an out-and-out sportbike. It does offer an affordable, and potentially more fun, alternative to the Honda CBR250R, making it a great option for more mature riders.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Gixxer SF 250

Q. Sujuki sf 250 Vs meteor 350 which should I buy for long drive for long time period durable?
  • As per your requirement, we would suggest you go for Royal Enfield Meteor 350, the RE Meteor 350 offers a comfortable position and an upright stance for easy long-distance touring. The bike has improved a lot compared to its predecessor and the healthy fuel efficiency and long interval maintenance make it more endearing. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Click on the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. Oiled cooled or liquid cooled?
  • Suzuki has developed a one-of-a-kind oil-cooled engine for the Gixxer 250 SF. This 249cc single-cylinder engine is a purely oil-cooled motor with no fins on the cylinder block. It uses the engine oil to cool the engine by running the fluid through the pressure-sensitive areas.
Q. What is recommended petrol for Gixxer SF 250 2020? Normal petrol or premium?
  • If you do not wish to pay the premium for power petrol, normal petrol would be a fine option for the Gixxer SF 250. Moreover, if you want slightly better mileage and performance, then you may go with power petrol.

Q. Should I go with Dominor 400 or Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. If i am considering the build quality, Engine quality and a bit of touring but not more than 250km a day.
  • Japanese bikes are revolutionary machines. Their any product particularly. The built, ergonomics (very imp), the mechanicals - the most important for better performance are umatchable. Gxr250 is an amazing machine. Within the city 5 gears are fantastic, once higjway comes the 6th gear shows the potential of the engine. Easily cruising at 120 kmps with pillion. And the engine is patented. When you think of rx100, RD 350 you understand what amount of RnD they do to make superb products that last a lifetime. Think and decide
  • Dominor is the best. . Refined engine... And the service netowork is great..so if your on your trip.. and something goes wrong ( which would never happen) you can get it done irrespective of you being in any corner of India... And they do prioritize dominors over the other bajaj bikes so you would get your ride the same day.. and bajaj service stations are open all Sunday's too 😉
  • You can Blindly Go for Dominor 400 , Whenever You Wants You Can do Hyper Riding and You Can Cruise in 60 - 70 in 6Th Gear

Q. Please suggest me a bike for daily office commute of 60 kms and on weekend around 400 kms on highway. my preference is comfort over power but not to underpowered, i have in mind few bikes like FZ25 , RTR 2004v, Gixxer sf250,RE himalayan, which bike would you guys suggest?
  • Among the selected options, we would suggest you to go with the Royal Enfield Himalyan as the bike continues to outshine the rivals as an all-rounder. Not only the bike has brilliant off-roading credentials, it comes across as an excellent city slicker. The seat is nicely scooped for the rider and is very comfortable even if you ride for longer hours. The Himalayan gets a 14-litre fuel tank. The brand claims a range of 400 to 500km on a tank full, which sounds good for distance riding. As for the engine, the all-new, air-cooled, 411cc single-cylinder engine feels very refined and churns out 24.8PS of power and 32Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency figures are good enough for someone to want to buy the Himalayan as his daily ride as well. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride of the bike for a better knowledge of comfort and maneuverability. Stock standard the bike sucks on performance i will be taking the bike in to get a 3mm bigger exhaust manifold/ header and a proper exhaust can /pipe.And reflash ecu and then will put it on dyno. The bike can only do 147 khm max speed / true speed as and the hp isn't 26 its 24.9 so suzuki is playing games and 3.Have been tested in south africa.Weigh 65 kgs i have tested the bike on flat roads an high ways.Suzukis claims aren't true unless we had duud bikes here.

The best part about this bike is the price segment, Not too costly and not too cheap. Better in performance than cheaper bikes and a bit lacking from costlier ones. Maintenance is 1000 rupees for 5k km and mileage depends on the rider but the least this bike gives is 30.This means the total cost of maintaining this bike over 5 years is cheaper than what you would spend on your riding gear and accessories and coolant price of other bikes. The spares are not readily available but will arrive after ordering. This bike is exported to Japan, Russia, and other eastern countries. Suzuki has to improve the visor and also the dealership and service network badly. Their exit may be caused if they don't get alert.

I have recently brought this bike performance wise its wonderful the engine is unique in the way it performs in mid range tractibility is amazing and then the pull to the top end. I usually drive not more than 70 to 80 kmpl it stays between 35 to 50 maximum time and the mileage i am getting is 25 to 30 kmpl.Seating comfort is nice too no pain whatsoever loved it the led front ones are very bright 👍 styling is good but could have been more fantastic overall it's been a great bike for me.

after thunderbird this bike won my heart. didn't accepted but it happens , after thunderbird every bike seems to like a toy for me but this bike .... wow ... a simple and sufficient answer of my reaction , my height is 5.11 (in feet) power and torque output is awesome , no heating issue in total ride of 343.46km slightly neck pain but way more better than my dad pulsar , I am one of true bike lover , I had Yamaha rxg (the legend), Rajdoot 175, pulsar 150( 2008), thunderbird 350 now this (Gixxer 250 SF bs6 2020) now it's permanent next will be definitely car (thar 2020) hope for best.

I own this bike for last 1 year. Travel about 75 kms daily. Its a monster machine , value for money, pick-up & styling are 'A' class. A little working on REAR BREAKS is required as they are inconsistent . PS: SUZUKI should appoint a better efficient dealers in kolkata...'CHANDRANI SUZUKI ' , & ' ANIMESH SUZUKI ' both dealers are useless people.
