Bajaj Chetak range is 95km on a full charge. Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has been launched in India. The new Bajaj electric scooter price is Rs 1 lakh for the Urbane (drum brake variant) and Rs 1.15 lakh for the Premium (disc) variant. The Chetak electric scooter will first go on sale in Pune before it gets launched in Bengaluru. It will primarily compete against the Ather 450, which retails at Rs 1.13 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru). Bajaj will be selling the scooter via its pro-biking network which currently sells KTM and will be adding Husqvarna in the future. The Bajaj Chetak will be powered by a 4kW BLDC motor developed by Bosch and it comes with a non-removable IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. The Bajaj Chetak range is 95km in Eco mode and 85km in Sport mode. For better convenience, the electric scooter features a reverse gear to help the rider take the scooter out of tight parking spaces easily. Charging time for the Chetak is around 4.5 to 5 hours. There’s no fast charging offered even as an option. Notable Chetak features include an all-LED lighting system, LCD instrument cluster and a characteristic linked front suspension as its forefather. The rear comes with a single shock absorber. Braking duties are handled by a disc up front and a drum unit at the rear. According to Bajaj, the battery life has been pegged at 70,000km and the scooter also comes with a 3-year/50,000km warranty, which should ensure peace of mind for prospective buyers.
