Pros and Cons

  • Positives
  • Negatives

Force Gurkha

  • Old-school design
  • comfortable seating for four
  • pliant low-speed ride
  • surprisingly easy to drive in the city
  • refined engine.

MG Hector

  • Road presence. A large SUV that will get attention on the roads. Spacious and comfortable cabin. Ample space for six-footers. Loaded with features such as powered seats
  • front seat ventilation
  • 14” Touchscreen and ADAS — feels like money well spent.

Force Gurkha

  • Lack of outright power for highway driving
  • feels unsettled at high speeds
  • accessing second-row seat is impossible if the boot is loaded
  • too expensive.

MG Hector

  • No diesel-automatic option. Will put off buyers with high running. Petrol engine is not particularly fuel efficient. Not recommended for heavy city use.

Q. Which car is best to buy for offroading - Force Gurkha vs Mahindra Thar?
  • Both the cars are good in their forte. The new Gurkha comes with the older 2.6-litre turbo-diesel motor and not the newer 2.2-litre diesel which the old car got in its last stages. However, the 2.6-litre motor has been upgraded to meet BS6 norms. Force also claims to have heavily reworked the motor to improve refinement and power. Although they have managed to bump up the power on this engine, it still makes a not-so-thrilling 91PS and 250Nm. This lack of versatility is evident in the way the new Gurkha tackles our roads too. At low speeds, the ride quality will surprise you with its plushness. The soft suspension has the ability to gulp the worst road imaginable and while doing so the suspension remains silent. Even for such a tall and heavy vehicle, side to side motion is well controlled. But tackle not so perfect roads at speeds above 50kmph and the Gurkha’s dynamic envelope falls apart. On the other hand, This mStallion petrol paired with the 6-speed auto box was the pick of the engine combinations we’ve experienced in the Thar. It’s smooth and refined in the city and packs a heck of a punch when you push the go pedal. There’s plenty of torque from the petrol motor too so though we didn't test it, it’s sure to perform just as amicably in the off-road environment as well. The Thar's appeal and promise to take you on great adventures is a big draw but living with it everyday will still ask you to make many compromises. As a second car or for those who just need the utility of the 4x4 the Thar’s appeal is undeniable. For a better understanding of compatibility and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive. • Yes driving sonet diesel IMT since one year. Driven 26k so far without any problems.
  • For me, always Gurkha
Q. Is it better than the new Bolero Neo?
  • Selecting the right car would depend on several factors such as your budget preference on the segment, features required, cabin space, engine options, brand preference, etc. If you are looking for an SUV with extreme off-roading capabilities then Force Motors Gurkha would be a great pick. Force Motors Gurkha is currently available in a Diesel engine. The 2596 cc Diesel engine generates a power of 89.84bhp@3200rpm and torque of 250Nm@1400-2400rpm. On the other hand, Neo's promise is simple on purpose, offering go-anywhere ruggedness, with a compact sub-4m footprint that promises to be economical to own and maintain. Mahindra Bolero Neo is currently available in a Diesel engine. The 1493 cc Diesel engine generates a power of 100bhp@3750rpm and torque of 260nm@1750-2250rpm. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership.

    Force compete

It surely the purpose built off road.It is amazing both in performance and looks. It feels good, And has one hell of a road presence. Its is the only car in market with manual differential locking ability.Love the color it comes in.The only issue is its too expensive. It is in the price range of harrier and compass. How can force compete in off road segment when the price of a purpose built off road car is as same as of mid range semi-luxury vehicles. Why so expensive force.

    I own a used land

I own a used land rover lr3 and have driven more than 160, 000 km of adventure in desert after purchase, Driving alone without any fear of getting stranded in the middle of nowhere.Know your car and do not hesitate to go under it to know each part and how it functions, Of course do it safely.I am definitely buying it as soon as it is available.Very excited and looking forward to the purchase.

MG Hector - strong building quality

MG hector is the most awaited car in our family. My father likes this car and he drive his friend's car on first time. I bought MG Hector at on road price of 16 lakhs. The black colour is my favourite in MG Hector. The Exterior design gives the premium look to Car. The Fuel type of car is diesal and transmission is manual. The engine displacement in MG Hector is about 1956 cc. I experienced the top speed of car on highway is 195 kmph.

A Tale of Love and Mild Discontent

After months of research and comparison I finally decided to take the dive and bought the MG Hector. From the get go this SUV impresses with it is dominant road presence and the glossy appeal that makes heads turn. The extensive and tech loaded cabin with a massive 10.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system immediately caught my attention. But it is not just about looks the Hector is quite a performer too. However it is not all sunshine. The ride quality though generally comfortable feels a segment rigid on the rough roads commonly found across India.

carry on the legacy with mercedes

While talking about the milage of MG Hector it can be a weak spot, i experienced that it provides around 11-14 kmpl in the city and 16-18 kmpl on highways. The Hector is a head-turner with a bold design, featuring a large grille and panoramic sunroof (sharp exterior).
