Expert's Opinion on Pulsar 150 (2018-2026)
Overview

India’s Favourite Pulsar
- For more than 2 decades the Pulsar 150 has been one of India’s favourite 150cc commuter motorcycles. It offers the perfect blend of practicality and performance along with sporty looks.Over the years Bajaj has kept the base design for the Pulsar 150 unchanged. It only received updated paint schemes and graphics and some added features making it look a bit modern.
- The next-generation Bajaj Pulsar Classic range is expected to debut in August 2026. Ahead of its official launch, the all-new Pulsar 150 was spotted at a dealership in India.
Design

Old not obsolete
- The Bajaj Pulsar 150’s design has remained unchanged for more than 2 decades.
- It uses a sporty yet practical design which makes it an apt choice for customers of all ages.
- It gets a neatly designed metal fuel tank with tank shrouds along with sharp looking side panels.
- It continues with the popular tail light and headlight design.
- The next-generation Pulsar 150 looks more sleek and modern compared to the outgoing one, especially with the LED headlight, and a new monoshock and new tail lamp design rounding off the rear.
Performance & Mileage

Balanced performance
- The Pulsar 150 uses a single cylinder, air-cooled motor which puts out 14PS at 8500rpm and 13.25Nm at 6500Nm.
- This engine has been praised for its engaging power delivery, reliability and efficiency.
- The engine is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox with perfectly sorted gear ratios which makes it quite effortless around the city.
- The Pulsar 150 is a decently fuel efficient motorcycle and returns a mileage of 47kmpl.
- This mileage coupled with a big 15-litre fuel tank gives the Pulsar 150 a range of more than 650km.
- The 2026 Pulsar 150 will be powered by a 150cc air-and-oil-cooled engine.
- We reckon it will be a bit more powerful than the existing one.
- The engine feels quite stressed at highway speeds.
Handling

Made for the city
- The Bajaj Pulsar 150 handles quite well for a 148kg (single-disc variant) city commuter.
- It uses a 37mm telescopic fork along with twin rear shocks with preload adjustability.
- The motorcycle runs on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
- The Pulsar 150 uses a 260mm front and a 230mm rear disc brake setup with optional 130mm drum.
- Needs wider tyres for better grip.
Ride Quality

Tackles Indian Roads With Ease
- Pulsar 150’s suspension setup is quite well tuned for the city and it takes on the undulations with ease.
- The suspension setup helps in maintaining stability at high speeds but with a pillion it could feel a bit unstable.
- The suspension setup is a bit too soft.
Comfort & Storage

Quite Comfortable
- The Pulsar 150 gets an upright seating position which makes it quite comfortable to ride.
- It gets clip-on handlebars which are set quite high for making it comfortable to hold along with slightly rear-set footpegs.
- The Pulsar 150 is also quite comfortable for the pillion, as the pillion seat provides enough room to move around.
- Not enough storage space
Features

Basic at best
- The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is pretty basic in terms of features.
- It gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with an LCD screen and an analogue tachometer.
- It shows all the basic information.
- It gets a single-channel ABS for added safety.
- The new Pulsar 150 gets an all-new colour LCD instrument console, supporting smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Verdict

Is the Bajaj Pulsar 150 worth it?
- The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is one of the most reliable options to consider in the Indian market.
- In 2025, it is a no-nonsense, good-looking commuter motorcycle with decent fuel efficiency and usable power.
- For the price, there are a lot of more powerful and feature-loaded motorcycles available to consider.

Expert's Conclusion
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 stands as a solid choice in the entry-level 150cc segment, consistently delivering commendable performance coupled with a touch of sportiness. Its appeal primarily lies in this blend of power and aggression, striking a chord with younger riders. However, one area where it could see improvement is its feature list, particularly connected features, which would undoubtedly enhance its overall package.
