The long-awaited Porsche 911 GT3 will finally set foot in India on October 9, 2017. The 911 series is all about blowing your mind wide open with its ridiculous specs. Unlike the Carrera or the Turbo, the GT3 is powered by the rumbly 4.0-litre flat-six.

Tuned to produce 500PS and 460Nm, the engine can be had with a manual or a PDK automatic. If you choose to be a purist and pick the manual, you’ll also choose to be slower. The PDK is quicker by over half a second, compared to the manual. It helps the 911 GT3 to accelerate from zero to 96kmph in 3.2 seconds! If you are interested, the manual transmission takes 3.9 seconds.

The really good bit with the PDK gearbox is that it gives the driver greater control by letting him switch between ratios using the paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

The GT3 is more track-focused than your regular 911 that’s suited for cruising through continents. If you plan on taking your GT3 to the track, make sure to opt for the ‘Track Precision App’. According to Porsche, this app will let drivers display, record and analyse detailed driving data on their smartphone. If you’re fast, it’s best to brag and let your friends know.

It has a bigger rear wing than its other cousins

Porsche has a habit of charging you for taking things away from your car. Oddly, we’ve long made peace with that fact. The 911’s GT3 iteration follows the exact same mantra. So, gone are the rear seats and the luggage compartment. To save more weight, the roof is made out of magnesium and the engine lid is built with reinforced carbon fibre. It also sports a huge rear wing that differentiates it from its everyday cousins.
The GT3 may be lightweight, but priced at Rs 2.19 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai), it will still be heavy on your pocket.
