These days the use of free navigation software, which is available on all our mobile phones and tablets, is very common. However, as far as customising the experience is concerned, you can feed and receive commands in your local language, at best. But what if you want the system to be embedded to your car’s brain and work in sync with it? That’s where NNG comes in. It is an automotive software provider that specialises in smart on-board navigation systems.
The white-label company (meaning its navigation solutions are fully flexible for rebranding) operates as a business-to-business (B2B) platform. In India, it is currently working and supplying complete navigation solutions and related services to several OEMs. At the demonstration event, the company showcased many of its products that it has developed with carmakers like Toyota, Mazda and Ford and, with aftermarket infotainment players like Alpine. In several devices, the user interface and voice recognition is available in 10 regional languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Bengali, Punjabi - and in Indian English.

The company is currently working on some specific features for the Indian market. Some of them include pre-recorded voices in Indian languages for voice guidance, implementation of Indian virtual reality for addresses and points of interest, Indian English TTS (text-to-speech), address searches in Hindi and real time online traffic updates. A navigation system designed specifically for motorcycles was also on display.
Ford’s SYNC 3 system was also on display. The customised navigation software for the infotainment system has been integrated with the vehicle’s infotainment system, including the diagnostics display and interface, and shows nearby fuel stations, which is, in turn, linked to the low fuel indicator.

As of now, the NNG devised software is available in more than 30 million devices across the globe, covering 30+ car brands. The Budapest-based company, that is present already in Ford and Renault products, is eyeing to capture the fast growing Indian automotive industry.
