Jeep Compass Limited Plus Diesel Automatic Reaches Dealerships

• The diesel automatic will be available in two trims: Longitude Option and Limited Plus.
• Features include touchscreen infotainment, powered front seats, and panoramic sunroof.
• The automatic gearbox will be available in 4X4 guise only.
• The Compass Limited Plus Diesel AT could be priced at Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jeep India will soon introduce the BS6 diesel-automatic powertrain in the Compass’ lower-spec Longitude Option and Limited Plus variant. The latter is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), undercutting the flagship Trailhawk by Rs 1.80 lakh. Now, we have received spy shots of the upcoming model, which is expected to launch soon, at what looks like a dealership.

Visually, the new diesel-AT variant looks exactly like the standard manual variant. Likeable elements include the 7-slat grille, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, squared wheel arches, and the split LED tail lamps. 

Inside, the basic dashboard design and layout are identical to the Limited Plus manual variant.  However, the diesel-AT variant packs essentials like cruise control and auto start-stop function -- features earlier found in the Trailhawk variant.

Other features include 8.4-inch infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, auto headlamps and wipers, a 3.5-inch multi-info display, as well as keyless entry with push-button start.

Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, ESP as well as an electric parking brake. 

The Jeep Compass Limited Plus will utilise the BS6-compliant 2.0-litre Multijet powertrain found in the Trailhawk. It develops a healthy 170PS of power, 350Nm of torque, and comes mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The automatic variant on both trim levels will be available with all-wheel drive only.

 

Bookings for the upcoming Compass Diesel Automatic are open for a token amount of Rs 50,000. We expect it to launch in the next two weeks. The Compass Limited Plus Diesel automatic will rival the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Honda CR-V.
