The 2020 Honda City is more of an evolution rather than a revolution. Honda has played it safe by ironing out the older car’s shortcomings and making it an overall complete product. It still rides on an identical 2600mm wheelbase, but the new City is longer and wider, courtesy a heavily revised platform. Here are the dimensions of both cars:

The new City’s design looks premium with elements borrowed from the Accord and Civic. Even the interior is more European with a cleaner and simpler design which we really like. Here’s a closer look at the City in our detailed image gallery

Honda has also loaded the new City decently. New additions include Honda’s LaneWatch Camera (part of blindspot monitoring wherein a camera is placed on the left side outside rearview mirror), a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch screen, connected car technology with Alexa remote capability, and a tyre pressure monitor. Carryover features include a touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, a sunroof, keyless entry with push button start and auto headlamps. Safety features on offer are six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors with a rearview camera and electronic stability control. For a variant-wise feature list, head here

The 2020 City comes with two engine options: a 121PS/145Nm 1.5-litre petrol and a 100PS/200Nm 1.5-litre diesel. While the petrol engine is an i-VTEC unit, the diesel is a DOHC unit, making it more up to date. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox while the petrol engine can be had with a CVT as well.
