In the lead up to the festive season, a host of limited edition models have been launched by Tata, Renault, Toyota and Kia. At the same time, Audi launched the new-generation Q3 and MG introduced the updated Gloster. With so much happening within a week, it is easy to lose track. Hence, we’ve got all the news that made headlines this week.
Tata has launched a new Jet Edition line for its range of SUVs which comprise the Safari, Harrier, Nexon and the Nexon EV. The new edition, save for the addition of a few safety equipment, primarily packs cosmetic changes like the new bronze body colour with a silver roof and white upholstery contrasted with bits of bronze on the dashboard and doors.
Audi brought back the Q3 to India after more than a two-year hiatus. The new generation model of the SUV is offered in two trims: Premium Plus and Technology. It gets a 190PS, 2-litre turbo-petrol engine which sends power to all four wheels using a seven-speed DCT. Deliveries of the SUV will commence by the year-end.

The Kia Sonet got a new flagship variant in the form of the X Line. It is based on the top-spec GTX+ trim and commands a premium of Rs 20,000 over the same. The X Line gets a bunch of sporty cosmetic upgrades; the highlight being a segment-first matte shade. There are no changes under the hood, as it gets the same powertrain options as the standard trim.
MG launched the updated Gloster with minor revisions and a price hike. The SUV’s cosmetic revisions are restricted to a new Deep Golden shade with new British Windmill Turbine-themed rims. Its feature updates include an improved i-Smart system with over 75 connected car features and an ADAS kit that now gets rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist and door open warning.
Mahindra teased the XUV400 for the first time ahead of its debut on September 8. The teaser gives a quick glimpse of the headlights and the front grill that houses the new Mahindra ‘Twin Peaks’ logo finished in copper. The SUV’s powertrain specifications will be on a par with the Nexon EV Max which has a claimed range of up to 437km.

In the same spirit, Toyota too launched a Limited Edition of the Innova petrol based on the base-spec GX trim. While Renault’s Limited Edition models pack cosmetic revisions, Toyota’s Limited Edition adds to the features list of the MPV.
The Brazil-spec Citroen C3 was launched with an automatic option that is likely to come to India as well. Skoda unveiled the Vision 7S concept SUV that debuts the brand's future design language, with the new logo - a wordmark spelling ‘SKODA’ instead of the emblem.
