More details of the upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, essentially the facelifted TUV300 Plus, are coming to light ahead of its expected launch later this year. We got our hands on the upcoming SUV’s power outputs and variant information via a Delhi RTO document. So without further ado, let’s get cracking.
The Bolero Neo Plus should get the 2.2-litre diesel engine putting out 120PS, which is the same as before. However, when compared to the Thar and Scorpio’s unit, it falls short on 12PS. The document also states the Neo Plus gets an Eco mode, which drops the output further down to 95PS.
Like before, the Bolero Neo Plus should continue to drive the rear wheels and should get a manual gearbox. It remains to be seen if Mahindra will use a 5-speed unit from before or the new 6-speed unit seen in its newer offerings.
On the variants front, the document states it will come in seven variants: P4, P4 7-seater, P10, P10 (R), P10 7-seater, P10 7-seater (R) and an ambulance-specific P4 5-seater. Furthermore, we suspect the SUV marque to offer it with both 7- and 9-seater options with the last row likely to be both front facing (7-seater) and jump (9-seater) seats.
For more details about the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, here are five things you need to know. It should command a premium over the existing Mahindra Bolero Neo that starts from Rs 9.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The Bolero Neo Plus will be a more affordable alternative to the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and won’t have direct rivals in the country.
