Renault has been focusing strongly on the Indian market to expand its product offerings and market share with new products. The Kiger and Triber have helped the brand grow in India capturing a fair share of the total market. The upcoming Renault Duster is also anticipated to be a major launch for the brand in India. Renault has now revealed that it will be launching a new sub-4m SUV, which has been named the Bridger. The concept is slated to be unveiled on March 10. Here is all that we know so far about the Renault Bridger SUV:

What Is The Renault Bridger Concept SUV?

Renault had opened a new Renault Design Centre in Chennai (RDCC) back in 2025, and at the time of the opening event, Renault had promised to launch five new cars in the Indian market across the C-SUV and B-SUV segments over the next two years, all of which have been developed in the RDCC. The upcoming Bridger Concept SUV is one of those promised products that will be designed and developed at the RDCC in India. Renault has also reportedly been working on a mini Duster for quite some time now, which could possibly be the production version of the Bridger Concept SUV.

What Do We Know So Far?

Renault has released a teaser video, giving us a hint at the silhouette of the Bridger Concept SUV. It is expected to sport a boxy, upright, and tall stance along with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The video also showcases illuminated Renault lettering similar to the one we have seen on the international-spec Renault Duster, which is likely to be a part of the SUV's front fascia.

Along with this, Renault has also disclosed that the Bridger Concept SUV will measure below 4 metres in length, but there will be no compromise on the space inside. The teaser video is just the start; Renault will be completely unveiling the Bridger Concept SUV on March 10, after which more details on the exterior design and interior will be disclosed.

What To Expect?

Buyers can expect the Bridger Concept SUV to feature a modern and urban exterior design along with a spacious cabin, even though it will sit in the sub-4m category. The Bridger Concept SUV is also expected to offer all the latest tech and features that would enhance convenience. In terms of engine options, it could borrow the 1-litre turbo petrol engine from the Kiger, which is available in both manual and CVT automatic transmission options.

Renault could also use the ‘Bridger’ name in the production spec version, which is expected to hit the roads by early 2028. Once launched, Renault’s new sub-4m SUV will be positioned above the Kiger and would rival cars like the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny

ZigSays…

Renault seems to be taking the sub-4m category in India very seriously, as this would be the second sub-4m SUV for the company in India. Renault aims to target people who want a lifestyle SUV but do not wish to buy mainstream cars like the Thar and Jimny. Renault will have to equip the Bridger Concept SUV with a capable drivetrain in order to gain the traction it desires. The launch of new Renault cars in the future will help the company to diversify its product lineup, which will help Renault to appeal to a wider audience as a company, making sure there is a Renault car available for all types of buyers.

But alongside new launches, Renault should also focus on introducing new showrooms and service centres, and improving the quality of after-sales, if it truly desires to improve its market share.
