Select Skoda dealerships have commenced unofficial bookings for the facelifted Kodiaq ahead of its launch in January 2022. We have now learnt that the premium SUV is likely to be available in three broad trims: Sportline, Style, and Laurin and Klement. The Scout trim, offered in the pre-facelift SUV with rugged design touches, will not be present.

As the variant's name suggests, the Sportline will get sporty design touches (a la the Superb Sportline) while the Laurin and Klement should get all the bells and whistles. The Style is expected to sit between the two with all the necessary features.

Speaking of which, the facelifted SUV could get new additions like front seats with ventilated, heating and massage functions, an updated 12-speaker Canton sound system, and a 10-colour footwell LED ambient lighting. Features like a digital driver’s display, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, and cruise control will be retained.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Regardless of the variant, the Kodiaq will get the VW Group’s new 190PS 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, driving all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Prices are likely to start from around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Volkswagen Tiguan and Toyota Fortuner petrol.
