Ever thought of taking your car and going on a road trip expedition to experience all four districts of Sikkim? Cougar Motorsports is offering the opportunity to do that via the Himalayan Dash Sikkim 2022 event. It’s a nine-day self-drive expedition that will take place from May 6-14.
The convoy will begin at Siliguri and pass through a variety of areas such as Pelling, Lachen, Gurudongmar Lake, Lachung, Yumthang Valley, Gangtok, Nathu La and Zuluk. The route will take the participants through all kinds of scenic places such as mountain ranges, ancient monasteries as well as landscapes with waterfalls, and lake meadows. Notable attractions will include the 17th century Buddhist Sanga Choling Monastery, Rimbi Waterfall, Yuksom (first capital of Sikkim), as well as Yumthang valley ( also called the Sikkim Valley of Flowers).

Heading the convoy will be Ashish Gupta, founder of Cougar Motorsports. Cougar Motorsports itself has previous experience in holding these expeditions, with the previous iteration being held at Ladakh. They’ve also organised the Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India, which is one of the toughest international offroad motorsport events in the country.
So what’s the criteria to enter? Well all you need is a valid driver’s licence and any 2WD or 4WD model can be used for the expedition. Of course these vehicles should have a private registration, a valid pollution under control certificate and comprehensive insurance coverage policy.

To participate in the Himalayan Dash Sikkim 2022, you’ll have to pay on a twin/double occupancy basis Rs 1.25 lakh plus 5 percent GST per person. Do note that the expedition will be limited to a maximum of 10 vehicles and 20 guests, so you might want to book them as soon as possible.
