BMW has launched the 2025 Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition at Rs 96.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The new special edition roadster features new exterior paints, minor design updates and major updates in the powertrain department where it now gets a manual transmission catering to the needs of those who want the ultimate driving experience.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at the 2024 BMW Z4 Pure Impulse Edition:

2025 BMW Z4 Powertrain
When it's a Bimer, it feels like a compulsion to start with the powertrain first. It is powered by a 3-litre six-cylinder petrol engine which churns out an impressive 340 PS and 500 Nm. The engine can be either paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The stick shift option is new and can only be had with the Impulse Edition.
With the manual gearbox option it goes from 0-100 kmph in 4.6 seconds, and with the automatic it hits the 100 kmph mark in a quicker time of 4.5 seconds.
As part of the BMW Efficient Dynamics, it comes with features such as brake-energy regeneration, 50:50 weight distribution and lightweight construction amongst other features.
2025 BMW Z4 Design
The Z4 Pure Impulse Edition introduces two new shades for the exterior - Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green. The front features a slightly reworked kidney grille which thankfully isn’t excessively large as seen in other modern BMWs. It gets vertically oriented LED headlights, and an aggressive bumper design.
The Z4 Impulse Edition features a staggered alloy wheel setup for the first time, sporting 19-inch M Light Alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch ones at the rear. Additionally, it gets standard red-painted M Sport brake callipers, high gloss shadowline elements, and black mirror caps. The rear looks gorgeous with a unique spoiler, sleek LED tail lights and a rear diffuser. There are also plenty of cuts and creases everywhere to give the roadster an aggressive look.

2025 BMW Z4 Interior And Features
The cabin design focuses on sportiness while offering comfort and a premium feel. It gets a new Leather Vernasca Cognac upholstery, with exclusive stitching / edge stripping for the manual variant. The athletic interior features M sport seats and an M steering wheel to denote the aggressive nature of the sports car. The dashboard is dominated by a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. You get gloss black finishes across the cabin and an improved storage space for your cupholders and bottles.
Apart from the infotainment, it comes with features (some optional) such as an adaptive navigation system with 3D maps, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, a heads-up display, a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and a dual-zone climate control.
Safety features include a reverse parking camera, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and an optional parking assistance system.
Rivals
The BMW Z4 directly competes with the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet.
At just under Rs 1 crore, the Z4 Pure Impulse proves to be a tempting option for buyers who want something sporty and fun while drawing all the attention on the road. What do you think about the Z4? Would you buy one if you had the money? Let us know in the comments section.
