BMW F 900 GS And F 900 GS Adventure Teased: Are The ADVs Coming To India?

The F 900 GS will replace the currently sold BMW F 850 GS in India

BMW Motorrad India has dropped a teaser on their official social media, showing the F 900 GS indicating that the ADV will be launched soon. The F 900 GS will replace the F 850 GS in the Indian market.

The BMW F 900 GS, is a middleweight ADV offering from the German manufacturer and it comes with a different design language than the F 850 GS it replaces. For starters, the bike’s front section is less imposing thanks to the smaller headlight and shorter beak. The bike also gets a different windscreen that makes it stand out. Overall, BMW has managed to make the F 900 GS look a bit more sleek, without sacrificing the rugged looks that we have come to associate with their ADV lineup.

The F 900 GS is powered by an 895cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine which outputs 106.4PS and 93Nm, which is 10PS and 1Nm more than the F 850 GS.

In terms of underpinnings, the F 900 GS is suspended on a 43mm inverted fork and a monoshock. The bike rolls on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel. Braking duties are handled by a two 305mm discs on the front and a 265mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS.

Additionally, the brand has also teased the F 900 GS Adventure as well. The main differnece between the Adventure and the regualr F 900 GS is that the Adventure sports a similar looking headlight as the F 850 GS.

With the launch of the BMW F 900 GS and F900 GS Adventure expected to take place soon, BMW will be better positioned to take on rivals like Suzuki Vstorm 800DE and Triumph Tiger 900, both of which were launched recently. We expect the F 900 GS and the F 900 GS Adventure to come at a price that is around Rs 13.5 to 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Earlier, BMW had launched the BMW G 1300 GS in India at a starting price of Rs 20,95,000 (ex-showroom). We also had a chance to ride the bike and here’s what we think about its real world performance.
