Maruti Suzuki has commenced official bookings for the 2022 Brezza SUV ahead of its launch on June 30. Interested customers can place their orders either online or at a dealership for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Also, the 2022 SUV will lose the ‘Vitara’ moniker and will just be called the ‘Brezza’ from hereon.

Today, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Brezza will get a big boost in safety equipment, courtesy of the addition of six airbags and electronic stability control. Other notable feature additions include a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a single-pane sunroof (first for a Maruti), wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, and a heads-up display.

Another important aspect Maruti approved is its engine. So the Brezza will feature the updated 103PS 1.5-litre petrol engine that debuted in the updated Ertiga and XL6. This unit can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a new 6-speed torque converter automatic that replaces the older 4-speed unit.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to be priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. It will contend with the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and the likes in the Indian market.
