The diesel gives a higher mileage but is pricier to maintain. Also, the diesel vehicles are more powerful but the initial pick up and acceleration is better for Petrol cars. So, if you don't drive for more than 1200km's in a month, it is wiser to go for the Petrol one

It's depends on your daily driving, if you drive daily more than 50 - 80 km per day, you should go for diesel but if your daily or monthly drive less than 500 - 600 km better go for petrol.
