  • Q. How tyres perform on the wet roads and other kind of roads, and what's the average mileage if I ride in between 4000 rpm
    Dillip
    Dillip | 3 years ago

This Apache comes equipped with TVS Remora tyres at both ends: a 90/90-17 upfront and a 130/70-17 at the rear. But that rear rubber is only offered on the rear disc brake variants, as the rear drum variant gets a 110/80-17 rear. But put the bike through its paces and it’s clear that this RTR 160’s handling prowess is down primarily to the chassis and suspension setup, because the tyres are average at best. Hats off to TVS for engineering such a brilliant setup, which we think should feel even better with better rubber. To be honest, the brakes were a bit of a disappointment. The front brake lever feels spongy and there’s almost no feel from it. Even the bite is not all that great. In fact, a couple of times, under very hard braking, we got a massive brake fade. While we don’t believe that these brakes will be an issue for everyday use, if you’re riding hard and fast, such as on a racetrack, you will need to recalibrate braking distances in your head. Though we haven't tested the bike in wet road conditions, it requires more cautious riding. In our road test, it delivered 50.9kmpl in the city and 56.1kmpl on the highway. Also, mileage will depend on factors like riding style, road traffic conditions etc. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.

    • My Journey with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

After a year of roaming through busy city streets and the occasional adventurous tour on the highway, I can honestly share my experience with my trusty ride the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. Known for its robust 160 cc engine, this beast has not disappointed in the performance department. The ride quality and handling are top notch, showing off its racing lineage. The fuel efficiency is quite commendable too delivering around 45 kmpl on mixed usage quite a savior given the ever rising fuel prices. The seat is sporty, gets a bit uncomfortable on longer rides.

    • The Thrill of Owning the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Six months and 6,500 kilometers later, my TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has been a great purchase. With a 17.63 PS power at 9250 rpm and torque of 14.73 Nm at 7250 rpm this beast has made every ride exhilarating. Its handling is spot on thanks to the well balanced chassis and the smooth gear transition making me feel in total control at all times. But it is not without its flaws. The seat could do with more cushioning for better comfort on longer journeys. Additionally the hustle and bustle of the Indian roads, I find the fuel efficiency approximately 45-50 kmpl a bit underwhelming.

      Riding the TVS Apache RTR

Riding the tvs apache rtr 160 4v is super fun! it's easy to handle and feels comfortable with its upright seating. However, Some riders might find the seat a bit hard, And the suspension can feel stiff on rough roads.Best this of this bike is great for performance lovers. It looks cool and rides smoothly. Also sounds sporty.Sometimes, The chain gets loose on the apache, Which can be annoying. And this happens after every 1000-1200 kms. This bike gives mileage of around 50 kmpl if you ride it at an avg.Speed of 60 kmph. The pickup is awesome, And the bike feels strong and sturdy. Some riders might feel slight vibrations at higher speeds, But it's not a big deal.It comes with cool features like two trip meters, A top speed recorder, And an odometer.Plus there are indicators for rpm, Service reminders and low batter. It shows time also on the display. For after sale service - personally, I don't prefer using service centers for tvs bikes. They're not very responsive and often don't have materials available on time. Also, Their charges are a bit high.

Riding the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is a thrilling experience with easy handling and comfortable upright seating. While some may find the seat a bit firm, the bike excels in performance, looks, and smooth riding. Occasional issues like a loose chain after 1000-1200 km can be a drawback. It offers around 50 kmpl at 60 kmph, impressive pickup, and cool features. However, after-sale service at TVS centers may be less responsive, with delays and relatively high charges.
