Maserati is an iconic Italian car manufacturer that makes luxury sedans and sportscars. It was founded in 1914 by Alfieri Maserati, one of five brothers in the Maserati Family with the other four brothers involved in the Company’s operations right from the beginning. In its second innings, Maserati will sell its cars through three dealerships, one each in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore and has plans to open a few more dealerships in the coming year in prominent cities.Maserati has a range of sedans and grand tourers that will come to India. The entry point into the Maserati brand will be the Ghibli sedan, initially available only with the V6 diesel engine but comes with a V6 petrol too that should be introduced in India in 2016. The Ghibli should offer a good mix of performance and mileage. Its bigger brother comes with higher technical specifications. The Quattroporte GTS sports a V8 petrol block. For sportscar fans, the entire GranTurismo and GranCabrio range will be offered.Maserati plans to keep its brand exclusive in India which means selling lesser cars at a premium. For the first year, less than 100 cars are planned to be shipped from its headquarters in Modena, Italy.
