Husqvarna has just taken the wraps off the Svartpilen 200 in line with its plan of expanding its product portfolio by going smaller down the cubic capacity range. The neo-retro urban scrambler shares its cycle parts with the Svartpilen 250 but borrows the engine from the KTM 200 Duke.
It gets the same 199cc single-cylinder motor that makes 25.84PS, which is found on the 200 Duke. However, the Svartpilen 200’s engine features a revised exhaust layout with a chunky cat-con, suggesting it is BS6-compliant. Mechanically, it features the same 43mm USD fork, preload-adjustable monoshock and brake components from the Svartpilen 250. Even the dual-purpose MRF tyres are borrowed from its elder sibling.
The earliest we can expect Husqvarna to launch the Svartpilen 200 in India is February 2021 as the company intends to establish itself in the Indian market with the 250s in 2020.
