Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG to be launched in July

Mercedes-Benz India has been on a roll recently with regards to its performance oriented AMG cars. With the launch of the Mercedes ML63 and GL63 AMG SUVs a few months ago, the German manufacturer is all set to cater to the lower end of the performance car spectrum with its CLA45 AMG.

Mercedes-Benz will soon launch the highly awaited CLA45 AMG, which is a 4-door sports coupe by the end of July. A 2.0-litre, twin turbo 4-cylinder engine powers the CLA45 AMG making 360PS of peak power and 450Nm of peak torque. The CLA45 is mated to the same 7G-DCT automatic transmissions and an all-wheel-drive system that ensures maximum grip over any type of road surface. The newly launched AMG centers in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore will cater to clientele interested in the CLA45 AMG, which is expected to be priced at about Rs 60-70 lakh. As we reported a few weeks ago, dealers have stated taking bookings for the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh with the first subsequent deliveries planned around August.

The CLA45 will not only take on the likes of the Audi S4 in terms of performance but will also go up against the likes of the luxury saloons and SUVs in the same price range. While the more mature buyer would opt for a full sized, top of the line E-Class or ML-Class, the younger, more dynamic buyer is certainly going to choose the CLA45 AMG based on the styling alone. Not only is the CLA45 AMG a good looker, it is also a potent vehicle in terms of performance. With 0-100kmph being taken care of in a mere 4.6-seconds and on to a limited top speed of 250kmph. Owners can also opt for a special package which can remove the top speed limiter.
