Most of you might remember the Micra, Nissan’s mid-size hatchback in India, that was known for its feature-rich packaging and cute styling. While it was discontinued in India during the transition to stringent emissions, the carmaker has revealed the facelifted version, known as the March, in Mexico. Mind you, this is an upgrade of the version that was sold in India and not the new-gen Micra sold in Asia and Europe.
The exterior styling, though, is similar to Nissan's next-gen models such as the Kicks and the new Micra sold in ASEAN markets. The March’s front-end features Nissan’s trademark V-shaped grille flanked by raked halogen headlamps. Save for the new 16-inch alloy wheels that fill the arches nicely, the silhouette looks similar while the rear-end comes with LED tail lamps.
Except for the new 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the new steering wheel, the March’s interior is similar to the India-spec Micra. It also utilises an all-black dashboard. The safety kit is also quite impressive with six airbags, ABS with EBD, and seatbelt reminder being offered as standard.

The Nissan March is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that develops 106PS of power and 142Nm of torque. It is offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The March is priced from 219,900 Mexian peso, which equates to around Rs 7.90 lakh. The return of the Micra nameplate is yet to be determined in India, but we hope the next-gen model is part of Nissan’s product onslaught which comprises eight new models counting the recently launched Magnite.
