The new Tata Tiago will feature a new design language from the Indian car manufacturer that will also subsequently come on the likes of the Nexon compact SUV and the Kite 5 sedan. We like how Tata has given the Tiago a well crafted front grille and swept back headlamps up front along with a sporty bumper and an integrated spoiler at the back. The Tiago will also get 14-inch alloy wheels on the top of the line variant and features great stance.

On the interior front, the Tiago features a new dashboard, which is a big step up from the likes of the Indica. The new car features a black central console and a well set infotainment setup. The Tiago does not get a touchscreen but will get app support that will mirror features like navigation and media. The Tiago also is very spacious up front and features a large boot that offers space for a large bag.
In terms of engines, the new Tiago gets both a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine that makes 85PS of peak power at 6000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 3500rpm. The diesel engine on the other hand will be a 1.0-litre engine that makes 70PS of peak power and 140Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Although not available at the time of launch, there will also soon be an AMT version of the Tiago which should offer a practical and value for money proposition for many Indian buyers.

As we mentioned earlier, the Tiago should be priced between Rs 3.5-5 lakh for the petrol versions and Rs 4-5.5 lakh for the diesel variants. The Tiago will face still competition by some of the most established players in the Indian automotive scene although we think the added benefit of space, driving dynamics, plastic quality and good looks should give the Tiago an edge.
