When the KTM 790 Duke was spotted testing it was reported that the Austrian bikemaker is planning on a new adventure bike based on the same platform. KTM boss Stefan Pierer had also confirmed that they are developing a new adventure motorcycle. And now finally pictures of the KTM 790 Adventure has been posted online by MCN. From The grain images we are sure that it will follow the same design language as seen on the KTM 1050 Adventure with a tall windscreen, the exhaust muffler has been placed near the tail section alongwith bash plates and spoke wheels. The model that was caught is an early prototype and we are sure more design elements will be added to the production-spec bike. It also hints the fact that there is time before the KTM 790 Adventure hits production and we expect the bike to make its official debut at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show.
Also it is clear that except from the powerplant, the KTM 790 Adventure and the 790 Duke will not share many components. The new adventure bike sports different swingarm, chassis, exhaust system, sub frame, fuel tank and front section. Powering the bike will be a parallel-twin motor of 800cc displacement with the impetus being more on low-end torque. The new KTM 790 Adventure will rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800 and the Honda Africa Twin and we can expect it land on Indian shores in 2018.
