Kia India will start accepting bookings both online and at its authorised outlets in the country. At launch, the car maker plans to have 265 touchpoints at 160 cities by the time the Seltos is launched.

The Kia Seltos will be offered in two trims - HT Line and GT Line. The HT Line is more of a base variant as compared to the sportier GT Line. It differs in a number of areas like wheels, inserts on the bodywork, interior upholstery and more. According to sources, there could be as many as 16 variants to choose from.

Under the hood, the Seltos will come with three BS6-compliant engines and four transmission options, more than any other car available in India. The petrol engines consist of a 1.5-litre motor which makes 115PS of power and the range-topping petrol 1.4-litre Turbo GDI unit, good for 140PS of power. The 1.5-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, pushes out 115PS of peak power.

The 1.5-litre petrol variant, on the other hand, will also get a 6-speed manual, but will have a CVT gearbox as an option too. And finally, the range-topping 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol unit will be available with the 6-speed MT and the 7-speed DCT.

Some notable interior highlights include a 10.25-inch infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a Bose surround-sound system. Other segment-first features include an 8.0-inch head-up display, 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, sound mood lighting, ventilated seats, powered driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, sunroof, and more. The Seltos will also get  UVO Connect, which offers a host of connected car features similar to Hyundai’s BlueLink system that debuted with the Venue. The UVO Connect will be free of cost for the first three years. In terms of safety, the Kia Seltos will offer six airbags, tyre pressure monitor, ABS, and vehicle stability management.

The Kia Seltos is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks as well as the Duster facelift in the Indian market.
