Isuzu launches MU7 Automatic

Isuzu Motor today launched an automatic variant of its MU7 SUV at Rs 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

While the demand for diesel cars has been on the high for quite a while now, buyers in India also have a soft corner for SUVs. And in line with both of these, manufacturers are bringing in automatic diesel SUVs. Hyundai launched the Creta yesterday and today Isuzu has brought in an automatic variant of its MU7 SUV.

At the heart of things, the MU7 will get a 3.0-litre 4-cylinder inter-cooled unit that produces 162PS and 360Nm. So far the MU7 was only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission but now, they have also introduced an automatic variant which has been priced at Rs 23.90 lakh.

Aside from an automatic transmission, the new variant will also come with some additional features like steering mounted controls, a new music system with satellite navigation. parking sensors with reversing camera synced with a touchscreen display and more.

Commenting on the introduction of the model, Mr. Naohiro Yamaguchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, said, “In line with ISUZU’s philosophy to constantly study the market and offer customers a great experience, we now add the new Automatic Transmission variant with more enhanced features on the interior. Many have approached us for an Automatic variant in the MU-7 and with this launch we are sure that a wider range of SUV enthusiasts will prefer the MU-7”.

Isuzu is currently assembling the MU7 SUV at the Hindustan Motors Ltd, facility in Thiruvallur, near Chennai. The MU7 automatic will be on sale at the 25 exclusive Isuzu dealerships across the country.
