The Toyota Glanza which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Baleno now gets 6 airbags as standard fitment, something that the Baleno still does not get. Earlier, the entry-level E and mid-spec S variants used to come only with 2 airbags, but they have now been updated with 6 airbags.
Apart from this, the Japanese automaker has also introduced a new “Prestige Package” which is basically a special edition package comprising a bunch of accessories.
With six airbags now introduced as standard, the Glanza’s minor premium over the Baleno seems more worth it. It is also important that Toyota has not increased the prices of the variants in question. The six airbags include dual front airbags, front side airbags and curtain airbags. Other safety features offered with the Glanza include ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, a 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors.

The Glanza’s limited edition ‘Prestige Package’ comes with a bunch of accessories at no additional cost and is available till 31st July, 2025. It comes with dealer-fitted accessories to make the exterior and interior look more stylish. The accessories include door visors, body side moulding with chrome and black accents, rear lamp garnish, chrome garnish for ORVMs and fenders, a rear skid plate, illuminated door sills, and lower grille garnish.
The Glanza comes with a 90 PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
The addition of 6 airbags for the lower-end variants will clearly attract more customers towards the Glanza. This will not only bring in potential Baleno customers, but also attract those who were planning to purchase the Hyundai i20 or Tata Altroz for the extra airbags.

We won’t be surprised if Maruti too soon updates the Baleno with six airbags as standard. So while the Glanza does have an advantage, it might now last for too long.
Prices for the Glanza begin from Rs 6.9 lakh (ex-shhowroom), and it locks horns with the Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20. Would you pick the Glanza over its rivals? Let us know in the comments section.
