The Indian automotive space has witnessed a significant change with the introduction of GST 2.0 reforms in September 2025. These changes have brought substantial relief to car buyers, especially to those who are on a tighter budget in the mass-market segment. However, there are some massive price cuts in the luxury segment as well, making sure that your dream cars feel slightly more accessible.
For potential buyers looking to invest in premium automobiles, this presents an opportunity to acquire their dream vehicles at significantly reduced prices. From flagship SUVs to high-end sedans, the list is diverse! Here are the top five luxury cars that offer the highest GST benefits.
The mighty Defender has gained significant traction among adventure enthusiasts and luxury car buyers alike. Under the new GST structure, the Defender benefits from substantial price reductions, making this capable off-roader more accessible to a broader audience. The capable SUV now starts from Rs 98 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.6 crore (ex-showroom). The Defender now has a price reduction of up to Rs 18.6 lakh with the updated prices.
The Defender is available in several engine options. These include a 2-litre petrol (300 PS/400 Nm), a 3-litre diesel (300 PS/650 Nm), a 2-litre plug-in hybrid (297 PS/640 Nm), a 3-litre petrol (400 PS/550 Nm), and two V8 petrols (425 PS and 525 PS/625 Nm). All are mated to an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

The flagship Range Rover model has become cheaper by a whopping Rs 30.4 lakh! You can literally buy a brand-new Mahindra XEV 9e with that money. Its prices now range from Rs 2.31 crore to Rs 4.25 crore (ex-showroom). Yes, the celebrity-favourite car is still quite expensive, but the savings are immense.
It is available with three engine choices: a 3-litre diesel, a 3-litre turbo-petrol, and a 4.4-litre twin-turbo petrol engine. All powertrains come paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is offered in HSE, SV, and Autobiography trims, all in LWB versions.

The G 63 needs no introduction and has a fan following like very few! The SUV is a cult car in India, instantly recognised by its sheer road presence and V8 exhaust note. It is one of the coolest cars that money can buy and a dream come true for some enthusiasts. Post GST cut, it gets a benefit of Rs 25.65 lakh! The beast is now priced at Rs 3.59 crore (ex-showroom).
It comes with a soulful 4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine churning out 585 PS and 850 Nm, mated to a 9-speed automatic and AWD. Both fuel efficiency and 0-100 kmph numbers should be in the range of 3-4 (kmpl and seconds, respectively).

Now, we take a look at Mercedes’ popular Maybach models, usually preferred by top businessmen and celebrities of the nation!
You get the highest benefit on the Mercedes-Maybach S 680, featuring a price cut of Rs 19.85 lakh, and it is now priced at Rs 3.47 crore (ex-showroom). Under the hood, it gets a 6-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine making 612 PS and 900 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic.

Second, we have Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, for those who want the top-tier experience in an SUV version. It costs Rs 3.16 crore, seeing a price reduction of Rs 22.6 lakh. It is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech, delivering 557 PS and 730 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic and AWD.

Then there is also the S 580 for those who want the Maybach badging while saving significant money. Unlike the S 680, which gets the V12, this one gets a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol mild-hybrid setup producing 503 PS and 700 Nm. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic.
It is priced at Rs 2.74 crore, shaving off Rs 15.7 lakh from its previous pricing.
A luxury car list without BMW would feel incomplete. The BMW X7 and 7-series also attract massive price cuts under GST 2.0. The S-Class rival sees a price reduction of up to Rs 10.25 lakh, with its prices ranging from Rs 1.79 crore to Rs 1.82 crore (ex-showroom).
The 7 Series gets two powertrain options: a 3-litre petrol (381 PS/520 Nm) and a 3-litre diesel (340 PS/700 Nm), paired with an 8-speed automatic.

BMW’s flagship ICE SUV, the X7, offers the perfect blend of luxury and driving pleasure. It now retails at Rs 1.25 crore (ex-showroom), after witnessing a price cut of Rs 8.9 lakh. It features a 3-litre petrol (381 PS/520 Nm) and a 3-litre diesel (340 PS/700 Nm), both combined with an 8-speed automatic and AWD system.

The GST 2.0 reforms have fundamentally changed the luxury car market dynamics in India. With substantial price reductions across premium segments, vehicles that were once considered extremely expensive have become more accessible. Buying a luxury car is a status symbol for some, and for others, it is a lifelong dream. Whatever your reason might be, the updated tax structure has created an unprecedented opportunity for you in India.
One can also look at this way: Buy yourself a new Rs 3 crore car and save enough to buy yourself a compact SUV for your daily drives, when taking your dream car out might not seem practical.
So for those considering a luxury car purchase, the current market conditions present an ideal time to make that investment, with the added benefit of simplified pricing structures and substantial savings compared to previous prices.
